Description
Introducing aromatic Arizona™ series of hybrid Hyssop perennial plants! The bi-color Arizona™ Sunset Hyssop (Agastache ‘Arizona Sunset’) features unstoppable flower spikes that defy tricky garden location in the sun, while proudly displaying the pastel sunset colors of pink and orange! Backed by a compact mound of silvery sage-green foliage, these rounded herbaceous perennials are one tough ombre!
This Hyssop perennial starts off with orangy buds that mature into rosy pink tubular blooms! Not only does every inch of this plant and its flowering spikes emit a nose-tickling, minty-licorice aroma when crushed or brushed by, but honeybees, butterflies, and hummingbirds go nuts for the tubular blooms! These are perfectly shaped for hummingbirds, butterflies, and hawkmoth tongues!
Proven Winners® Arizona™ Sunset Hyssop grows quickly to a full, rounded, and bushy 8 – 10 inches in mature height and width each growing season, and is both heat and sun tolerant throughout USDA hardiness zones 6 – 9! The long-lasting blooms add interest to this herbaceous perennial plant long after other plants have given up in the heat and sun!
Planting and Application:
Any garden becomes a hummingbird hotspot and pollinator garden with a few of these incredible nectar-rich two-tone flower spikes! This herbaceous perennial adds fine-textured interest anywhere in the sun and pairs well with other pollinator favorites to create a butterfly garden or wildflower border that feeds the fluttering masses! The pastel bi-color spikes of flowers are a great fine-textured airy filler in Cottage and Perennial beds and borders.
Arizona™ Sunset Hyssop can be used as container and planter filler plants in cooler growing zones, similar to how you would use annuals. Use that sunny cheerful color to enliven seating areas, perfuming a Rock Garden. You’ll love their soothing, subtle pastel color around a sunny seating area, and in patio planters placed around a front porch! Thriving in those tougher locations and for busy gardeners that might miss a watering here and there.
These Arizona™ Series Hybrid Agastache are incredible long-lasting blooms that just pop in the landscape! Add finery when planted among pink, yellow, and orange Rose bushes and mailbogardens in the sun! Add that special something to a harsh Xeric landscape! These are drought-resistant flower-power with blooms that don’t quit until fall!
Best of all – they’re so easy-care and maintenance-free! That ease of care extends to these perennials being used in commercial plantings and en masse alike! Filling in large swaths of hot dry ground and sandy soil without batting an eye!

ProPlantTips for Care:
Aromatic and easy-going Hybrid Hyssops do their very best in the full sun! Provide at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day in a very well-drained location! Not particular on soil type, they do appreciate a layer of mulch to hold in moisture and love regular watering as young plants get established in their new homes.
Deadheading, aka: snipping as many flowers for bouquets as you want, helps keep Agastache reblooming until fall and maintains a compact and well-branched plant! Prune Agastache perennial plants in late fall after the foliage has died back. Trimming them down to near the ground and removing excess leaves and foliage from the area. Give your herbaceous plant a 3-4 inch layer of mulch and water it in well for the winter.
