ProPlantTips for Care:

Grow Gardenias in full sun or partial shade where it has at least four hours of direct sunlight a day. Well-drained soils are necessary, so if you suspect poor drainage – mound up or keep your shrub in containers if you have heavy, soggy soil. Establish the root system the first year with careful attention to watering; then, put your Gardenias on a regular schedule of watering for best flowering. Apply mulch over the root system, and pull it away from touching the stems. Prune to shape as needed after the first flush of flowers is finished. Remove crossing branches and any branches that may be damaged.
