Rhipsalis baccifera is a unique and elegant epiphytic cactus, known for its long, slender, green, trailing stems that create a spectacular cascading effect. Its graceful, airy silhouette makes it an ideal plant for hanging baskets, bringing lightness and an exotic touch to any interior. It is also one of the few cacti native to both the New and Old Worlds.

Origin : Epiphytic species widespread in Central and South America, the Caribbean and tropical Africa.

Growth : Moderate growth, gradually forming long, branching, drooping stems that intertwine in a vegetal curtain.

Flowers : Produces small, star-shaped, inconspicuous white to greenish flowers, followed by small, translucent, spherical fruits resembling mistletoe berries.

Light : Prefers bright but indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can burn its stems, while too little light slows its growth.

Watering : Keep the soil slightly moist but not soggy. Allow it to dry out slightly between waterings and reduce watering even further when the plant enters dormancy.

Substrate : Use a cactus potting mix enriched with organic matter (fine bark, coconut fiber), mimicking its natural epiphytic habitat and promoting good drainage.

Toxicity : Non-toxic to humans and animals, safe for homes with children or pets.
